Macrodyne Technologies Inc. has recently supplied a Macrodyne 7,700 Ton, Hydraulic, Elastoforming Press to a large aerospace parts manufacturer in Brazil to form aluminum aircraft components.

This press is capable of a specific forming pressure of approximately 12,000 psi. on the specially designed 12” thick multi-layer elastomer pad which has a working area of 50” x 26”.

A shuttle table is provided with the press to allow quick and ergonomic press loading and unloading. A change unit is also included to facilitate changing of the elastomer pad.

The press is equipped with an Allen Bradley PLC based electrical control package complete with color, graphic based operator interface unit.

The comprehensive press control features include programmable, closed loop stepless tonnage control, servo proportional decompression, position control and monitoring for the ram via position transducer, multimode capability, programmable dwells, jog functions, shuttle functions, fault diagnostics, security levels, preventative maintenance screens, production data reporting and a variety of other useful features.
