Macrodyne Supplies Six (6) 225 Ton Multi-Opening Presses for a Rubber Molding Application @ 13 October 2006 07:57 PM

Macrodyne Technologies Inc. has recently supplied six (6) 225 Ton Hydraulic Multi-Opening Presses for the manufacture of rubber floor mats.

Each press includes five (5) heating platens, drilled and channelled for thermal-fluid heating medium, ground top and bottom to be flat and parallel within 0.002”/ft.

The platen insulation panels provided with the presses are non-asbestos, high-strength, reinforced; composite sheets manufactured from heat resistant thermosetting resins. The insulation panels are ground flat and parallel within 0.002”/ft.

The adjustable, four-point, prismatic, temperature compensating guide arrangement on the bottom bolster and platens is designed to provide precision guiding throughout the thermal growth of the platens.

The replaceable guide wear pads are made from Teflon and graphite impregnated composite materials that are self-lubricating.

Each press features an Allen Bradley PLC based control system and operator interface. The controls package is programmed to provide proportional, programmable tonnage control, stop/start and emergency stop controls, multi-mode capability, pressing dwell settings, mat parameter storage for tool set-ups, cycle counter, jogging functions, fault diagnostic capabilities and safety guarding interface.
